Sky Sports pundit and former Everton striker Kevin Campbell recently claimed he does not see Moise Kean, who is currently on loan at Juventus, regaining his position back under Frank Lampard next season.

The Italian forward is in the last year of his two-year loan deal after he failed to make an impact at the Toffees following his arrival from the Italian club back in August 2019. While the Bianconeri do have an obligation to buy once the deal expires at the end of this season, the January signing of Dusan Vlahovic has put a spanner in the works for the Italian youngster.

This could mean that Kean will return to England at the end of the season and fight for a place in Lampard’s team, while it is reported they are willing to let go current starting striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, however, Campbell does not believe Kean will return.

Speaking to Goodison News when asked if he thought Kean would return, the pundit claimed (via TEAMtalk): “No, not really. I think when you look at the situation with him. Obviously, he was at PSG wasn’t he, then he goes to Juventus, it just hasn’t worked out at Everton for him.

“Now, what’s going to happen with Frank Lampard I don’t know, so I can’t really talk too much about that.

“But I don’t see [him coming back]. I think he’s more comfortable in Italy or abroad, but not in England.

“I think something will get done about moving Moise Kean on. Because look, he’s an asset, isn’t he, and they’ll get some money for him.

“Everton need a revamp – not an overhaul, but a revamp. And they’re going to have to move some pieces around to allow the manager to move and shake.”

TIF Thoughts on Kean’s possible return…

Kean has struggled to make an impact at Juventus this season, and with the signing of Vlahovic, it seems as if he will no longer be required in Italy. This also rings true for his requirement under Lampard at Everton. While the club are willing to sell Calvert-Lewin, this does not mean Kean will be first up to challenge for the vacancy, as the club has reportedly joined the race for current Chelsea youngster Armando Broja, who is on loan at Southampton.

Kean has only managed five goals this season in all competitions for Juventus, whereas Broja has netted nine times for Southampton so far. A move away for the Italian may be the best idea as he is turning 23 next season and consistent football is important for a player of that age.
