Surely Everton supporters surely worried to see this post-goal footage of Anthony Gordon emerge.

While Everton fans could briefly see some light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to their relation battle, that swiftly disappeared as their 2-1 lead at Turf Moor turned into a 3-2 defeat inside the final five minutes leaving Frank Lampard’s side just one point above the bottom three.

That game against Burnley could well have been a turning point as the Toffees showed good mental toughness to fight back from a goal down away from home, something they’ve rarely done, but that feta didn’t appear to excite all of the players after Richarlison’s penalty.

Fans will no doubt be angry and confused with this footage to have emerged of Gordon following Richarlison’s penalty which shows the youngster screaming at his teammates for not going to celebrate what, at the time, was a very important goal.

Of course, given their current situation you need togetherness and belief as a team, but that just seems to be missing with an apparent disconnect at Everton. Every goal is huge when you’re fighting in a relegation battle, so to see some players not even wanting to celebrate really does make you question where their heads are at.

In what has been a pretty dire season for Everton, the one shining light has been academy product Gordon establishing himself as a regular at Goodison Park and proving he is certainly Premier League quality and can mix it with some of the bigger names within the league and Everton squad as he’s restricted the amount of minutes players such as Alex Iwobi and Anwar El-Ghazi have been handed.

The winger currently ranks third for goal contributions and fourth for shot-creating actions this season in the Premier League, which does raise the question of, where would Everton be without their star 21-year old winger this season?
