Lucas Digne has posted a video on his Instagram account of him working out in the gym, which could be a big injury boost for Aston Villa and Steven Gerrard.

The January recruit was forced off with an injury last weekend during Aston Villa’s defeat against Tottenham Hotspur and Gerrard confirmed after the match that Digne’s season might be over as he was in a sling with a suspected collarbone injury.

Will Digne play again this season?

Yes!

No!

No!

Digne was replaced by experienced veteran Ashley Young, who certainly put himself about, but he may not get many more chances to play this term if the Frenchman’s latest video is anything to go by.

Despite hearing his manager suggest that the season could be over for him, Digne has posted a video of him working out in the gym without a sling or seemingly any support following his injury, alongside the caption ‘Trust the process’.

TIF Thoughts on Digne’s potential return…

It certainly appears that Digne fancies his chances of making a return before the end of the season as he’s also posted a picture of himself out on the pitch accompanied by the caption ‘Villa Park soon’, suggesting that he believes a return before the season’s end is certainly on the cards.

In the Villa squad, Digne currently ranks fifth for shot-creating actions per 90 minutes with 3.09, and compared to his replacement last weekend, Young can only boast a much worse 1.58, so it’s obvious that Digne is a big part of Villa’s style of play and creating chances.
