Tottenham Hotspur will receive a lot of interest in the summer transfer window for their left-back, Sergio Reguilon.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano who was speaking on the latest episode of his Here We Go podcast to discuss where the 25-year-old’s future may lie.

Should Spurs sell Reguilon in the summer?

Reports have emerged suggesting Barcelona may show some interest in the Spaniard ahead of the summer with Xavi looking to strengthen his options at left-back.

And it has been reported since the 25-year-old arrived, Real Madrid still hold a buy-back clause in Reguilon’s Spurs contract which could see him return to the Spanish capital for £43m.

Reguilon has finally been able to grab his first two goals for Spurs in recent months, but with a number of uninspiring displays also to his name, Romano had the following to say on his future:

(20:30) “Many clubs are interested in him, you know, because we had rumours from Catalonia about Barcelona and it’s true Barcelona are asking about him.

“I can’t say negotiation. I can’t say bid. We are not at this stage. But [they’re] just asking about the situation, enquiring about the situation. But they know, Barcelona, and other clubs that want him that there is a clause, a buyback clause for Real Madrid. It’s €40m (£33.2m), around €40m.”

TIF Thoughts on Reguilon’s future…

The left-back has not exactly set the world on fire since joining back in 2020 with just two goals and nine assists in his 65 appearances across all competitions.

And it appears he may not even be Antonio Conte’s first choice at left wing-back anymore with Ryan Sessegnon starting over the Spaniard when fit and available in recent weeks (via Transfermarkt).

If Spurs feel they could make a healthy return on Reguilon then we think it could prove to be a good move from Daniel Levy with Reguilon perhaps not living up to expectations.
