Footage has emerged on Instagram of Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn during his spell with the Dutch national side.

Bergwijn has departed north London for just over a week having been called up to Louis van Gaal’s latest squad for the Netherlands.

Van Gaal’s side face two international friendlies over the next week with games Denmark on Saturday and Germany next Tuesday.

And it seems Bergwijn is already impressing in training with footage emerging on the national side’s Instagram account of a goal he scored during Monday’s training session.

Posted to their official Instagram story, the footage showed Bergwijn receiving the ball at his feet before turning the defender and firing beyond the goalkeeper.

And the footage was relayed by the Spurs winger as he shared it to his own Instagram story on Monday amid his struggles in north London.

It has been another difficult campaign for Bergwijn at Spurs with the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski cementing his spot on the substitute’s bench.

Bergwijn has played just 486 minutes in the Premier League this season which has been spread across 18 appearances – with just four coming from the starting XI (via Transfermarkt).

And with rumours surrounding his future over the January transfer window, could his lack of game time be a sign he could be heading for the exit door in the summer?

The 24-year-old stole the headlines in January with an incredible cameo against Leicester City which saw him score twice in stoppage time to clinch all three points from the Foxes.

But those goals against Brendan Rodgers’ side are the only two goals he has been able to score for Spurs in the Premier League this season.

Could the footage be a sign the winger still has plenty to offer Spurs if he is given the opportunity in Antonio Conte’s squad or is it time for him to move on?
