Leeds United youngster Lewis Bate was spotted limping on Tuesday night in the U23s emphatic victory at Elland Road.

The 19-year-old was spotted by journalist Joe Donnohue from the press box as he reported for Leeds Live as the Whites beat Manchester United U23s 3-0.

Will Bate become a Leeds regular in the future?

And it was apparent to the reporter Bate was struggling with a potential injury issue as he noticed the midfielder had gone down on the pitch but continued to play despite nursing a limp.

Bate did not last too much longer with the former Chelsea man replaced just a matter of minutes later as he was helped off the pitch having gone down again.

With just shy of 60 minutes under his belt, there may be some concern after Bate decided to play on but only latest around seven further minutes as Donnohue said:

“Bate went down in the build-up to that one. Receives treatment on the field. About to come back on but limping,” the journalist said on the Leeds Live commentary.

TIF Thoughts on Bate’s potential issue…

Bate has featured pretty heavily in the Leeds matchday squad since the turn of the year but has only featured for 43 minutes in the Premier League.

With 16 appearances in the Premier League 2, Bate has been a big part of the U23s side this season and his potential absence will, therefore, be a concern.

There will also likely be some questions raised over whether the midfielder should have been pulled off after the initial injury concern with the 19-year-old potentially making his issue worse by staying on the pitch.
