Insider ExWHUemployee has suggested West Ham United full-back Arthur Masuaku could potentially miss the rest of the season with injury.

Back in February, the club’s official website announced that the defender would have to undergo treatment to deal with a knee issue.

Since then, the 28-year-old has not played in any West Ham games. There were rumours he could have made a return in the club’s most recent match against Wolves, but he was nowhere to be seen when it came to the chosen squad.

Now, while speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex has revealed even more doubt surrounding the current fitness of Masuaku.

Would losing Arthur Masuaku for the rest of the season be a big blow for West Ham?

Yes

Yes

No

No

He said: “Masuaku’s still got a knee injury, they’re still trying to explore what’s wrong with it. Don’t really know at the moment, it’s a reoccurrence of a previous injury.

“His knees have been dodgy for a while and they appear to still be.

“So there’s a rumour that he could miss the rest of the season, but it’s not 100% determined at the moment yet. They need to get to the bottom of this problem.”

TIF Thoughts on Arthur Masuaku and West Ham…

Considering the aforementioned rumours which claimed the player could face Wolves, and now this latest talk that Masuaku may be missing the rest of the season, it’s clear to see a fair amount of uncertainty is surrounding the defender.

All in all, West Ham fans will no doubt be hoping their club can indeed ‘get to the bottom of this problem’, as Ex says, before too long. If not, with Aaron Creswell the only other senior natural choice at left-back for David Moyes, the squad could be stretched to its limit for the final stages of this Premier League campaign.

And with a place in the top four still to fight for, the Hammers will need their team to be as strong as possible over the coming weeks.

After this latest news, however, things don’t seem to be looking too good with regard to Masuaku and the role he could play in the race for Champions League football.
