Sunderland attacker Leon Dajaku has sent a cryptic Instagram message to manager Alex Neil from a recent training session.

Last month, the Black Cats appointed their new head coach after former boss Lee Johnson was sacked following some poor results.

Neil began his tenure as manager with a 1-1 draw away at AFC Wimbledon. For that game, however, Dajaku was left on the bench, and in the following three League One outings, he has appeared just once.

Quite possibly with that in mind, the 20-year-old took to Instagram to share a message. Indeed, he uploaded a couple of pictures of himself working away in training, but added the ‘lips sealed’ emoji to accompany the images.

TIF Thoughts on Leon Dajaku and Sunderland…

Considering his lack of recent game time under the new manager, it’s not too hard to read between the lines as to what the emoji is supposed to be in reference to.

Even so, Dajaku could also be sending a message about himself, saying that he just needs to keep his head down, work hard, and force his way back into the manager’s thinking.

Should Leon Dajaku be playing for Sunderland more?

Up to this point in the season, the German has made a decent contribution to his team, being directly involved in eight goals, with four strikes of his own and four assists in 20 League One appearances. However, it’s clear that Neil wants more from the forward if he is to get his place back in the team.
