Image for Celtic: Podcaster identifies Rogic poor form

Podcaster Patrick McGilp has emphasised how poor Tom Rogic has been for Celtic in recent weeks after he was subbed off in the 58th minute against Hibernian on Sunday.

In the last four games, Rogic has been in poor form, having failed to achieve a player rating on SofaScore of over 6.8/10.

McGilp spoke on the A Celtic State of Mind YouTube channel and gave his view on how he feels the Australian has been performing.

He said: “I’ve said on here last week and probably the week before, I think Rogic’s on terrible form at the minute, I don’t think he can play in Europe, certainly not against a team like Bodo/Glimt.”

TIF Thoughts on the comments from McGilp…

McGilp may not have been alone in thinking Rogic has been below par recently, with Football Scotland claiming the Aussie ‘wasn’t at his magical best’ in Thursday night’s European exit.

Meanwhile, The Scotsman branded his performance at the weekend as ‘particularly flat’, so it certainly seems as if the midfielder is struggling for form.

The Australian hasn’t scored or registered an assist in his previous six appearances, so it may be time for Ange Postecoglou to rest him and give someone else a chance in the middle of midfield – especially with the amount of players Celtic have in the central-midfield area.

With a cluster of games coming up for the Hoops, this could be a good chance to give Rogic a rest, let him recharge and return to the form that he is capable of.
