Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that whilst on loan Morgan Gibbs-White will have his eyes on a permanent Wolves place next season.

Morgan Gibbs-White has been superb whilst on loan in the Championship with Sheffield United this campaign. He’s featured 27 times in the league, whilst scoring nine goals and registering seven assists, according to Transfermarkt.

The midfielder did make two appearances off the bench for Wolves in the Premier League this season, but Bruno Lage thought it was right for him to go out on loan.

Gibbs-White did go on loan in the first half of last campaign in the Championship with Swansea but featured just five times before suffering an injury and then returning to Wolves, where he made 11 appearances in the second half of last season, seven of those coming from the bench.

Interestingly, the midfielder has refused to comment on his Sheffield United future.

After impressing on loan with the Blades this season, Pete O’Rourke spoke to GIVEMESPORT and claimed that Gibbs-White will be hoping for regular game time in the Premier League next season with Wolves.

“I’m sure Morgan Gibbs-White will be hoping he’s done enough on loan to warrant a place in the Wolves side next season. The loan move for Gibbs-White has worked out for everybody involved. It’s given him first-team minutes, helped him improve his game, and also been a good signing for Sheffield United,” O’Rourke said.

TIF Thoughts on Morgan Gibbs-White…

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, he can operate in a position that has been firmly occupied by Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho, who have formed an unbreakable partnership. However, a potential way in for him would be when Wolves switch to a midfield three which normally sees the introduction of Leander Dendoncker, with Morgan Gibbs-White no doubt possessing more of an attacking threat than the Belgian.

With Joao Moutinho out of contract at the end of the season, and Ruben Neves being heavily linked with a move away from Molineux in the summer, Gibbs-White could play a big part in Bruno Lage’s side next season as a cost-free option, especially if he continues to produce stand out performances whilst on loan this season.
