David Moyes will surely be furious as an image of a horrible tackle on West Ham United’s Pablo Fornals has emerged.

West Ham fell to their first league defeat since 22nd January, however, it could well have been avoided given how close the goal they conceded was to being overruled for offside, while Manuel Lanzini missed a glorious opportunity to level in the second half.

Will West Ham make the top four?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Hammers certainly had their chances, forcing Liverpool’s Brazilian ‘keeper into four saves, but it could have been a lot easier for them to salvage at least a point had VAR been used on Diogo Jota’s tackle on Fornals, which appeared to show the Portuguese winger stamping down in the Spaniard’s ankle.

Fornals is seemingly lucky to have escaped without injury and to have been able to continue, as that sort of contact from Jota could have been serious.

TIF Thoughts on the challenge…

A staple of FIFA Ultimate Team in 2012, which Nigerian striker had a disastrous spell at the Hammers?

With this challenge seemingly getting next to no media coverage, it will surely only anger and frustrate both Moyes and the Hammers supporters, as a point would have then been a lot more attainable if Jota had been given his marching orders and helped West Ham in their pursuit of a top-four finish.

Fornals was very lucky to have not had his foot fully planted when the challenge came in from Jota as that could have easily ended up in a broken ankle and ending his season prematurely.
