Insider ExWHUemployee has provided an update on injured West Ham United duo Jarrod Bowen and Vladimir Coufal.

At the start of March, the club’s English winger picked up an injury in their 1-0 Premier League loss to Liverpool and had to be helped off the field by medical staff. He has not played since.

Similarly, Coufal has not been fit to play since a 2-2 draw with Leicester City back in mid-February – owing to a hernia operation.

However, thanks to the international break, the pair have had a little extra time to get themselves back to full fitness. Even so, with the game against Everton to be played this weekend, doubt remains over their availability.

While speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex said that it’s still not certain that they will be fit, but with them at least being pretty close to a return, David Moyes and co should get a ‘big boost’ soon.

He explained: “Bowen and Coufal, at this moment, are still aiming for Everton, but it’s still not confirmed 100% whether they’ll make it. But they’re still targeting it.”

Ex concluded: “Hopefully having Bowen and Coufal not far off is a big boost for us.”

With plenty still to play for this season both domestically and in Europe, it certainly will be a ‘big boost’ for the Hammers when these two players are back and fit.

In particular, Bowen has caught the eye this season with a number of great performances. In fact, his form has been so good that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp called him ‘unbelievable’ earlier this month.

Having played in 22 of the club’s 30 league games this season, Coufal has also been a regular part of Moyes’ plans as the senior right-back option.

Hopefully for West Ham fans, the duo can meet their goal of being fit and available for the Everton game.
