The South Korean was withdrawn in the dying minutes of the game to receive a standing ovation from the Spurs fans having netted two of the three goals for the home side.

And it was apparent the fans were not the only ones pleased with Son’s contribution against the Hammers, as Conte embraced the 29-year-old after he stepped off the pitch.

Smith’s Instagram story was relayed on Twitter by Tottenham-focused account TheSpursWeb as he watched on from the west stand in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

TIF Thoughts on Smith’s video…

This footage should certainly please the Spurs faithful given there have been some question marks over Son’s recent form under the Italian. The embrace clearly shows a special bond between the pair and suggests to fans that they have absolutely nothing to worry about his his happiness clearly present at the club.

Son now has the second-most goals (13) in the Premier League, with only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (20) having scored more than the South Korean this term.

And it is apparent Conte has no intention of dropping the winger despite the question marks over his form, as the 52-year-old claimed it would be ‘crazy‘ to drop a player of Son’s calibre.

After an impressive performance that saw Alasdair Gold award Son with a 9/10 rating, it was apparent Conte was delighted with his winger who helped Spurs on their way to three huge points.
