Simon Jordan has been speaking about Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha on TalkSport and about what has potentially held the winger back from doing more in his career.

Zaha is likely already a Crystal Palace legend given he’s their top scorer, won the most games and made the most appearances for the club during their time in the Premier League, as well as spending the majority of his career with the Eagles, aside from a disastrous time at Old Trafford.

Has Zaha fulfilled his potential?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

There have been times when Zaha could have left Palace with Arsenal and Everton having shown an interest in the winger over the last few years but nothing ahs ever materialised, much to the delight of Crystal Palace and their fans.

Jordan believes that if Zaha worked more for the team earlier in his career then the winger may have achieved more.

(4:30) “I do think there are times with Wilfried where he could’ve done a little bit more than sit on the halfway line with his hands on his hips getting fed up because he didn’t get enough of the ball and I think Roy got some of that out of him towards the end.”

TIF Thoughts on Zaha…

For a lot of seasons, Crystal palace were heavily dependent on Zaha and how effective he could be in the final third, however, this campaign he’s accompanied by the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Michael Olise, Conor Gallagher and Eberechi Eze who are able exciting young attacking talents.

Therefore, this has allowed Zaha to flourish for the Eagles having already completed more carries into the final third and is just two goals behind his best-ever return in the Premier League, which is the 11 strikes he manage last season, but this is all while he missed a handful of games due to being away at the African Cup of Nations, which make this season seem even more impressive.
