Newcastle United fans may well be left rather excited as footage has emerged of Bruno Guimarães whilst on international duty with Brazil.

It’s fair to say that the Brazilian international didn’t have the smoothest of starts to life at St James’ Park. He was on international duty when he was first announced which delayed his arrival, then the good form that Newcastle were in meant that he had to wait to get a place in the side.

He appears to be settling in now though, gaining more and more minutes as the weeks go by, starting their last three games and even scoring his first goal for the club in their recent victory over Southampton.

Those early absences clearly didn’t do much to put off Brazil boss Tite, as he has kept his place in the Brazil side for this latest round of games and has been putting in a good showing in training.

The Brazilian national football team posted a video on their Instagram story which showed him taking part in a shooting drill, in which he was able to sidestep his opposite number before firing a shot into the far bottom corner.

Whilst it is only training, it is a good little teaser into the kind of player that Bruno is and what he brings to the table, and exactly why Newcastle United were willing to spend so much money on him.

And whilst goals aren’t necessarily a big part of his game, with just 11 in his senior club career so far, if he can bring that to the table moving forward, then Newcastle United will certainly feel like they will have got their money’s worth with him, especially if he keeps them up, but also if he can help them become the force in world football that the owners want the club to be.
