After the potential absence of Patrick Bamford, transfer insider Dean Jones has highlighted just how much of a miss he will be for Leeds United.

Patrick Bamford was a star performer for his side last season, with 17 Premier League goals, which helped his side achieve a top 10 finish in their first season back in the top flight. However this season, he has barely featured due to injury woes, meaning he has made just nine appearances.

Leeds have struggled this season with the absence of key players like Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips, as they find themselves slightly in a relegation scrap, currently sitting just two positions above the drop zone.

Bamford recently returned to injury and got his second start back since last year against Wolves but he was forced off in the 23rd minute due to picking up a knock.

And, Dean Jones spoke to GIVEMESPORT and identified just how much of a miss he will be to Jesse Marsch’s side.

“He’s a massive loss and Leeds keep having setbacks every time they start moving forward,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones’ comments…

The English forward contributed with 24 goal involvements last season, which is a stat that no Leeds player has got anywhere near this season with Raphinha coming the closest with 12.

Bamford’s role has been shared between several players this season, but Dan James has been the main option up top for the Whites. He hasn’t exactly filled the boots of Bamford in his absence in terms of goals when he’s started up front as the Yorkshire side have only won one of 11 games when he’s featured as the vocal point in attack.

The English striker is set for another spell on the sidelines after his injury against Wolves, and this will be a huge blow for Marsch as he was just starting to get several key players back in the squad with Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips making the bench at Molineux. Bamford’s absence could seriously hinder Leeds’s chances of survival due to the lack of goals in the current Whites side available to Marsch, with 22 goals in 20 games in his absence.
