Journalist Dean Jones claims that Miguel Almiron will be sold by Newcastle United in the summer due to replacements coming in at St James’s Park.

Miguel Almiron has struggled to cement his place in the starting XI for Newcastle this season after he has featured 21 times but nine of those appearances have been from the bench, according to Whoscored.

The Paraguayan was brought into St James’s Park in 2019 for a reported fee of £21.15 million but has somewhat failed to live up to the price tag as he hasn’t scored or registered an assist this campaign in the Premier League, as per Transfermarkt.

Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT that Almiron will be shipped off by Newcastle due to the lack of space for him in the side.

“There’s going to be no room for him and he will be sold,” Jones reported.

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones’s comments…

He’s been almost non existent in some games so far this season, with an average of 0.9 shots per game, 0.2 shots on target per game 23.9 touches per game and 0.6 key passes per game. As well as this he’s struggled in the dribbling department with a success percentage of just 52 and loses possession around 6.4 times per game (SofaScore).

So, you can see why Eddie Howe may be thinking of getting rid of the attacker.

The Magpies brought in players with Champions League quality in the recent transfer window, such as Kieran Trippier, so if they do want to push on and compete further up the table then they will have to invest in some proven quality players, which could potentially lead to the exit of some of the current squad, such as Almiron.
