Leeds United fans will be encouraged to see Ian Poveda’s latest Instagram Story showing him in club training wear. 

The 22-year-old has had a difficult campaign through injury which saw the Englishman return from his loan spell with Blackburn Rovers.

A fracture and ligament damage to his left ankle in November saw the winger return to Leeds to start his rehabilitation having played just eight games in the Championship.

However, the youngster has taken to Instagram to share footage of him seemingly bulked up considerably over the course of his rehab process.

Poveda captured himself wearing a Leeds training vest top and shorts on Thursday afternoon, suggesting he is still training at Thorp Arch amid his recovery efforts.

The 22-year-old is believed to be edging ever closer to a return to action, with Tony Mowbray hoping Poveda can appear for Rovers before the end of the campaign.

In his eight appearances for the Championship outfit, the winger had been able to find the back of the net and provide two assists having only started half of those games (via Transfermarkt).

And should he return to Ewood Park before the end of the campaign, he would be looking help Mowbray’s men in their fight for promotion back to the Premier League.

Currently occupying the final spot in the play-off zone, Rovers will be aiming to make their return to the top flight having been relegated 10 years ago.

Poveda made 14 appearances under Marcelo Bielsa in the Premier League last season, so it will be interesting to see what opportunities may present themselves in the future with Jesse Marsch now in charge.

The transformation from this photo to the one he’s posted on Instagram is remarkable, with all this spare time from being out injured certainly allowing him to spend extra time on his arms in the gym.
