Kalvin Phillips has offered new Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch a potentially huge boost.

The Leeds midfielder has been out of action for a number of months now after suffering a serious hamstring injury that forced the Englishman to have surgery in December.

Do you think Phillips will return on the weekend?

Having missed 13 games for the Whites since sustaining the injury, the 26-year-old posted a cryptic message on Instagram hinting at his possible return.

The midfielder posted an image to his Instagram account on Thursday night of him back in training at Thorp Arch with three ‘hourglass’ emojis as the caption.

Reliable Leeds journalist Phil Hay has suggested recently both Phillips and Patrick Bamford could be set to return to action soon and they are clearly narrowing in their comeback as they take to training under Marsch.

And his potential return will come as great news to Marsch who is set to take charge of his first game as the Leeds manager on the weekend against Leicester City.

Since Phillips’ injury, the Whites have struggled massively in the Premier League having only managed to pick up seven points from a possible 33.

With the Whites in serious danger of being relegated back to the Championship, the possible return of Phillips will come as welcome news to all involved at Elland Road with their current midfield not exactly offering much defensive protection.

Last month the Yorkshire club conceded the most goals in a calendar month in Premier League history having shipped 20 goals in just five games.
