Leeds United: A promising hint may have just emerged in training

Has a huge hint just emerged in recent Leeds training ground footage, or is it just a coincidence?

Jesse Marsch was not handed a favourable hand for his first game in charge as Leeds United manager with Diego Llorente absent, Patrick Bamford still not fit enough to start and substitute Tyler Roberts picking up a season-ending hamstring injury after entering the game.

Will Leeds be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

A surprise decision from Marsch was to see Adam Forshaw drop to the bench having featured rather heavily under former manager Marcelo Bielsa and that didn’t end up working out as the Whites fell to a 1-0 defeat.

However, Forshaw could be set for a recall to the XI alongside the previously absent Llorente, as they have both been seen in training on LUTV wearing normal coloured bibs – which could be significant.

Part of the footage shows an exercise where Liam Cooper and Bamford were the only ones in pink bibs. Meanwhile, Phil Hay has confirmed that Cooper may not be back until after the international break, while Bamford is ‘set to feature’ at some point tonight, but perhaps not from the start.

Also, before the Leicester clash, Bamford was seen in training for rondos and various other drills, but appeared to be missing when it came to the full-paced training match at the end.

So with everyone else seemingly part of the full drill, that could suggest the likes of Llorente and Forshaw are back to full fitness ahead of tonight’s clash.

TIF Thoughts on Forshaw and Llorente potentially returning…

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

It would be massive for Marsch to have Diego Llorente back, as the Spaniard has played 90 minutes in the only three games in which Leeds have managed to keep a clean sheet this season, suggesting that he’s an integral part of this Leeds defence.

Forshaw is having a memorable season for Leeds having started 13 league games and featured in 18 in total after his major injury that saw him miss over two years of football, which may have been something Marsch was conscious of and feared he may suffer something of a recurrence if he plays too much football, hence his drop to the bench against the Foxes last weekend.
