Tony Scott has blasted the entire Everton team following their shocking Monday night defeat on the All Together Now podcast.

Everton have now won just one away game in the Premier League all season and that sole victory came back in August when they were flying under former manager Rafael Benitez. Under current boss Frank Lampard, they have already shipped 10 goals on their travels.

Will Everton be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

A major problem for Everton this season has always been defending, having kept just four league clean sheets all campaign and have now shipped 46 goals – the fourth-most in the entire league, so it’s clear to see where Lampard has to improve this Toffees side if they are to avoid relegation.

Scott has blasted all areas of the Everton side but was particularly disgusted by the defence, accusing them of downing tools.

He said: “Anyone who ever says that that’s not the case, not downing tools: have a look at the away record this season. Have a look at it and tell me otherwise, because it’s disgusting.

“That back four is a disgrace. The midfield weren’t up to much themselves, but they kept on plodding away. The forward line just was non-existent and we’re in big, big trouble. Big, big trouble. Because that back four is so fragile, mentally and physically.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

The Toffees currently have two defenders within their ranks who have made the joint third-most errors leading to a shot on goal in the Premier League in the form of Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane, with the former potentially replacing the latter in the side this week as he’s back in contention to start after Keane went off with an illness on Monday evening.

This highlights why they have been so poor at the back if these are the options they have.

Everton now have two massive home games against a Wolves side who are the third-lowest scorers in the league and a Newcastle United team in a great run of form, so the former should be a great acid test for Lampard’s men to see if they can shore up their backline and keep a precious clean sheet.
