Toffees boss Frank Lampard and youngster Ellis Simms at Everton could be set for a major boost if reports regarding Richarlison turn out to be true.

According to reports, the Everton forward, who has scored 47 goals and chipped in with 13 assists during his time at the club so far, could be offered a way out of the club this summer.

The report states that “Manchester United are interested in signing Everton forward Richarlison as the Red Devils look to shore up their attacking options”. This isn’t the first time that the Brazilian has found himself linked with a move away, with reports as recently as last summer suggesting that French giants Paris Saint-Germain were also showing interest in his services.

If he does leave the club this summer though, it could come as a major to both Lampard and Simms as This Is Futbol break down:

What was the fee for Everton paid for Fabian Delph?

A big boost for Frank Lampard in the transfer budget

Whilst no fee is mentioned in the report surrounding Richarlison, according to the CIES Football Observatory – a company which has developed a powerful econometric approach to assess the transfer value of professional footballers on a scientific basis – his value in the transfer market currently sits as high as €50m (£41.6m).

With Toffees boss Lampard not really getting a proper first transfer window given how late on in the process he was appointed, the chance for him to have a really good run at the transfer market could offer him the chance to get the players he wants and put together a side together that he feels can compete, rather than working with the players who failed to perform before him and dragged Everton into the relegation battle.

And if he can get anywhere near the £41.6m that he could get for Richarlison, it could really give him a great stepping stone to put together a decent team at Goodison Park in his own image.

A chance for a youngster to shine?

But as well as bringing in players, the exit of Richarlison could also provide some of the young talent already at the club the chance to shine. One such player is Ellis Simms, who is currently out on loan at Scottish Premiership side Hearts, where he has four goals in 12 games for them.

He has some impressive stats to his name this season. Indeed, he averages 6.5 total duels won per game and takes three shots per game on average but his shooting could do with some improvement as he has a shot conversion rate of 10%.

When you consider Lampard’s policy of blooding in young players, it isn’t far-fetched to think that Simms could be the next man off the production line and could be someone to challenge the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a place in the starting eleven which could be freed up with Richarlison’s potential departure.

TIF Verdict…

Should Everton survive this season, something that is not certain given where they are in the table right now, this next summer is going to offer them the perfect chance to really reset and give Lampard a chance to mould the team in his own image, both in terms of players he’s used to and give him a real chance to incorporate some youngsters into the side.

So if they can get an offer similar to what Richarlison’s value is, then it is something that they should really consider doing, because it could help not just Lampard and Ellis as outlined above, but could also the club as a whole as they try to push themselves back up towards the top of the table where they have been in previous seasons.
