He said: “Gordon always puts a shift in every game. His touch isn’t always the best, but he’s great at hassling, harrying, and pressing opponents, and he just always seems to give them energy when he’s on the pitch, which I think is really key. And that’s why he’s playing.”

TIF Thoughts on Anthony Gordon…

Gordon has been impressive for Everton this campaign, he was awarded an 8.9 rating by Sofascore for his display against Leeds United, where he scored and got an assist in the 3-0 victory at Goodison Park.

Although he hasn’t contributed with a large number of goals and assists for his side, he has still been praised by many in the footballing world for his performances in a struggling Everton team.

His main strengths may not be contributing directly to goals, but Neil Lennon highlighted the areas of his game that are important for the Toffees, saying following his performance against Newcastle United: “His work-rate to get the ball back and then to spring Everton into attack, his enthusiasm for the game and then quality has been terrific.”

So it looks as though despite Everton’s recent woes, he is continuing to improve his game.
