Many Arsenal fans will be licking their lips after seeing footage of Martin Odegaard while on international duty with Norway.

During the international break, the former Real Madrid man really seems to have caught the eye. Indeed, he netted a screamer as his country claimed a 2-0 win over Slovakia last week – with Erling Haaland grabbing the other.

He then impressed again more recently in the 9-0 win over Armenia as he played the full 90 and claimed an assist along the way. Beyond just that, however, he displayed a stunning amount of skill in one particular moment.

Indeed, in a video shared on Twitter, the 23-year-old can be seen receiving the ball right on the touchline. He manages to first squeeze the ball through his opponent’s legs, leaving them on the floor, before mercilessly teasing two other Armenia players with a few silky step-overs and his ridiculously quick feet.

TIF Thoughts on Martin Odegaard and Arsenal…

Since turning his initial loan move from Real Madrid into a permanent deal this summer, it’s fair to say Odegaard has looked good value for money.

Indeed, he has lived up to that reported £34m fee with a number of fine displays for Arsenal. He’s been so good, in fact, manager Mikel Arteta even said the player is ‘phenomenal’.

He said (via the Daily Mail): “Martin for us is a really important player, that’s for sure.

“He’s showing that every single week. He’s phenomenal to work with. He’s developing areas of his game that we discussed, that he agreed, and that we believed could help him impact matches in a much more powerful way.

“His whole mindset, the way he prepares himself, the way he treats people, the way he plays the game, is just exactly what we want from an Arsenal player.”

Having impressed so much for the club of late, and now showing off his talent while on international duty, it’s safe to say many Gooners will be delighted with their new star man.
