Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is loving life in north London and is fully focused on the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign with the Gunners amid contract reports

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking on the latest episode of his Here We Go podcast to discuss the future of the 20-year-old.

There has been a number of rumours (via Daily Mirror) linking the youngster with a potential move away from the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, with Liverpool said to be interested.

The youngster still has over two years remaining on his current deal with the Gunners, but it is believed he is currently earning in the region of £30k-per-week.

However, Romano believes the winger would be open to staying with Mikel Arteta’s men and Champions League football would play a huge role in keeping him in north London.

He said: “When I’m asking about contract, the answer I’m receiving is: this boy really loves Arsenal. He’s in love with Arsenal, he’s really committed, he’s really serious. He knows how Arsenal are helping him, so he’s only focused on the second part of the season.

“Contract talks won’t take place in March or in April. It will be at the end of the season as a possibility to discuss a new contract with Arsenal. But really, Bukayo Saka is happy and I’m sure that if Arsenal will play Champions League football, they will have the chance to discuss a new contract with Bukayo Saka.”

TIF Thoughts on Saka’s future…

This will come as welcome news to Arsenal fans, as the 20-year-old has impressed again this season with seven goals and four assists in the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).

With the impact he has had on Arteta’s side, the fans will obviously want him to remain at the club, however, they will also be pleased to hear he is focused on the remainder of the season despite the outside noise.

There is an awful lot still to play for at Arsenal with a spot in the Champions League firmly on the agenda, and the last thing the club needs is players being caught up in contract talk and transfer rumours.
