Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Yerson Mosquera has dropped a big injury update on Instagram following his long-term issue which has had him sidelined.

The Wolves ace signed for the Wanderers in the summer from Colombian outfit Atletico Nacional for a fee believed to be in the region of £4.6m (via Transfermarkt).

However, Mosquera has only played nine minutes for Bruno Lage’s side having sustained a hamstring injury which has seen him watch on from the sidelines.

The injury, sustained against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup, forced the Colombian to undergo surgery on his hamstring, but it seems he is edging closer to his full return for Wolves.

Mosquera took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an update with the fans by sharing a post from the club’s official account on his story with the caption: “I’m back.”

As he begins to ramp up his return to on-field action, Mosquera featured for Wolves’ U23s side in the Premier League Cup against Exeter City in a disappointing 2-0 defeat.

However, the 20-year-old’s return to action was the main positive to come from the game, with Mosquera featuring for the opening 45 minutes.

The news may come as good news to all involved at Wolves, however, the Colombian will have a tough task on his hands to break into Lage’s defence, which has been exceptional all season long.

Only Manchester City can boast a better defensive record this season in the Premier League than Wolves, with City (17) conceding just one goal fewer than the Wanderers (18).

With Wolves battling for a spot in Europe, could we see Mosquera introduced slowly into Lage’s side, or will next season be a more realistic opportunity for the youngster to stake a claim for a spot in the XI?
