Rangers ace Ryan Jack has taken to Instagram to comment on the weekend’s controversial decision not to award him with a free kick after being taken down on the edge of the box.

The Gers cruised to victory on Sunday to maintain the pressure on the Scottish Premiership leaders as they bounced back from a disappointing midweek defeat.

Jack posted a still image of the alleged foul from the Hearts midfielder, Beni Baningime, which was not deemed enough for the referee to stop play for a free-kick.

The image showed Baningime sliding into Jack’s left leg with his foot caught underneath the 23-year-old Hearts midfielder and with the referee, Willie Collum, just a matter of feet away from the incident.

Adding to the image on his Instagram story, Jack provided the sarcastic caption: “Nah never been a foul! I slipped” with a ‘thinking emoji’ and ‘eyes emoji’, too.

The midfielder lasted 68 minutes on Sunday as he marked his first start of the campaign just days after coming on in the derby on Wednesday at half-time (via Transferamrkt).

Ultimately, the decision not to award Jack with the free-kick did not matter in the end as Rangers strolled to a comfortable 5-0 victory in front of their own fans.

However, it is apparent the Rangers ace was left furious with the referee’s decision with the 29-year-old lucky not to come out of the incident with an injury after his foot was left trapped under Baningime.
