Celtic youngster Joey Dawson has pulled off a clever finish playing for the club’s reserve team in their most recent match.

Earlier this week, the Celtic B team drew 3-3 with Queen’s Park away from home in the Glasgow Cup. Despite being 3-1 down at one stage, the Bhoys eventually managed to get themselves back level thanks to a goal from Karamoko Dembele and then an 89th-minute equaliser by Tsoanelo Letsosa.

Despite the late drama, the game had gotten off to a bright start for the Hoops. Indeed, just one minute into proceedings, Dawson managed to take the ball off the toe of the Queen’s Park goalkeeper but still had plenty of work to do to get it into the back of the net.

Will Christopher Jullien play a big part in the rest of Celtic's season?

With the ball beneath his feet and the keeper lunging towards it, the 18-year-old managed to audaciously chip his effort in from an awkward angle to give his side an early lead.

Footage of the fantastic finish was later shared on Twitter by Celtic Youth and Loan Highlights.

Still only a teenager, Dawson signed from Scunthorpe United on a three-year deal last summer. He arrived having been the youngest-ever player to make his first-team debut for his former club at the age of just 16.

While he is still primarily a reserve player, he has already made his senior debut for the Bhoys during a 3–1 Scottish Premiership win at St. Johnstone last December.

With a few more finishes like the one he managed against Queen’s Park, he could well find himself in Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the future. He certainly seems like one for fans to keep an eye on.
