Celtic followed up their Old Firm victory midweek with a walkover win over a woeful Motherwell side on Sunday afternoon. The Well had no answers for the Celtic steam train who blitzed their way to a 4-0 win.

It was a first half battering from Celtic which allowed them to cruise to victory in the second 45. A Tom Rogic brace followed Liel Abada’s opener to all but secure the three points before the halftime whistle. Daizen Maeda in the second half added the fourth to make the scoreline as comprehensive as the performance was.

It wasn’t all top performances though in the Celtic side, with Giorgos Giakoumakis’ performance peaking the interest of pundits.

Former Hoops ‘keeper Pat Bonner wasn’t sure on the forward, telling the BBC: “It’s hard to make up your mind about Giakoumakis. Sometimes he is very awkward, other times he looks strong. He is still young so it will be interesting to see what happens with him at Celtic.”

It’s clear to see that Giakoumakis has been underwhelming, especially if he’s being criticised after a comprehensive 4-0 win. The forward wasn’t involved in any of the goals highlighting his disappointing performance.

Which season did Roy Keane join the Hoops?

He struggled to make any impact on the game, with the 27-year-old having less touches than Joe Hart. He had 31 compared to the 50 of the English goalkeeper. When a team is so dominant and the forward has less touches than the shot-stopper, you know it’s not your day.

Ange Postecoglou has the likes of Jota, Kyogo Furuhashi, Maeda, James Forrest and Abada when everyone is fit, so Giakoumakis will have to seriously up his game if he is to continue getting game time. He only has three goals in 13 outings in all competitions this season for Celtic.
