Wolves defender Nelson Semedo has sent a fresh social media message to mooted transfer target Renato Sanches.

In their last outing, Bruno Lage’s men suffered a blow in their aims for European football as they suffered a 1-0 away defeat in the Premier League on Sunday.

Despite that frustrating result against West Ham United, Semedo still found time to congratulate Lille midfielder and international Portugal teammate Sanches after his side claimed a 1-0 win over Lyon in Ligue 1.

The right wing-back took to social media to comment ‘BIG’ on Sanches’ Instagram post after he wrote: “Difficult game but we bring 3 points with us.”

Of course, such an interaction may have Wolves fans rather excited as they have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old in the past. Indeed, Sky Sports reported the English club made a move for Sanches last summer.

More recently, journalist Tom Collomosse told GiveMeSport that Lage and co will ‘definitely’ be keeping an eye on the player.

He said: “They’ll still be following him, I think, for sure.

“I think the deal that Lille wanted to do, Wolves weren’t happy with because of concerns about his fitness at the time, but there’s definitely interest in the player there.”

Such friendly interactions on social media between Semedo and Sanches will certainly do Wolves’ chances of eventually signing the Lille player no harm.

However, the Portugal star has already spent some time in England at Swansea City in a loan spell that did not go particularly well. With that in mind, perhaps he’d rather stay away from the Premier League in the future.
