Wolverhampton Wanderers offloaded Adama Traore in the recent transfer window to Barcelona, but former Molineux ace Paul Ince wasn’t best pleased with the transfer.

Ince was confused by the deal and described the Spanish winger as ‘getting better’, so it was deemed an odd decision to let him go halfway through a season.

“I wasn’t too happy about Traore going, they should’ve kept him. He was getting better at Wolves, so that was surprising. The next three games will decide where they are,” Ince mentioned.

Traore is only with Barca on an initial loan deal, but there is an option to buy for £29m if the La Liga giants want to make the deal permanent.

TIF Thoughts on the Adama Traore transfer back to his boyhood club Barcelona…

Due to Traore’s style of play, whilst being robust and lightning-quick, he is not the usual model of a product from the Barcelona academy. The players are usually neat and tidy on the ball, like Andres Iniesta and Xavi.

But with Barcelona coming back in for the winger, it was hard for him to turn down the club that was such a big part of his career.

Traore scored just one goal and failed to register an assist during this season’s Premier League, but he undoubtedly has talent, with his ability to beat defenders with his frightening speed.

Despite his poor numbers this campaign, he still sparked interest from Tottenham Hotspur, but a figure couldn’t be agreed, with the latest offer in the region of £20 million.

Time will tell if his time at Barca will be a success, and with the recent introduction of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, they could form a promising partnership.
