TalkSport reporter Alex Crook has claimed that a Premier League club is interested in Wolves defender Max Kilman.

Whilst Wolves might not be the most entertaining team to watch, with just 23 goals in their 24 games in the Premier League so far this season, what has really helped them out has been their incredible defensive record, with just 18 goals conceded – the joint-second lowest tally in the division.

And 24-year-old Kilman has certainly played his part in that, averaging 2.1 aerial duels won, 1.7 tackles, 1.8 interceptions, 3.7 clearances, and 0.7 blocks per game (via WhoScored), doing his best to keep the ball out of Jose Sa’s net throughout the campaign.

Fitness issues plagued Silvio's career, but where did Wolves sign him from?

And it appears as though those performances have not gone unnoticed.

Speaking on the TalkSport GameDay Podcast, following a discussion about whether or not he would likely make it into the England squad for their upcoming games in March – which will be played at Molineux – Crook hinted that there were a couple of teams in the Premier League that wanted him to join them, with one team in particular getting a not-so-subtle namedrop:

“I know there are a number of big clubs in the Premier League. Let’s say there’s a club in west London who play in blue shirts who I understand are quite keen on Max Kilman.”

TIF Thoughts on Alex Crook’s comments about Max Kilman at Wolves…

Do you think Max Kilman is good enough to play for England one day?

Yes, he has the potential

No, he's not good enough

No, he's not good enough

This is just the cycle of how things go for a club like Wolves. As soon as a player starts to impress for them, another club will want to come in and take him from them, as has happened with Adama Traore and has been rumoured to happen with Ruben Neves, who has gathered interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

And suggestions like that are going to make it all the more important that Wolves manage to make it into European competition this season, which they currently stand a good chance of doing, because that will give them the best chance to keep hold of him, showing that the club are back on track and making progress after something of a slump last season.

A follow-up tweet from TalkSport has noted that Kilman is a boyhood Chelsea fan, so Wolves might well be up against it on that front, but all they can really do at this stage is try their best and see what comes from it.
