Tottenham’s Cameron Carter-Vickers has impressed during his time on loan for Celtic this season which has attracted attention from West Ham.

The 6 foot 1 Carter-Vickers has been a mainstay in the Celtic side this season and has featured 22 times, according to Transfermarkt.

West Ham have been linked to several defenders as they aim to push to the next step and become an established European side, and the 24-year-old is the lastest linked to a move to the Olympic Stadium.

The central defender has been on loan seven times during his time with Spurs, and after his impressive performances this campaign, he could be set for a permanent move away from north London in the summer.

Better than Dawson?

Cameron Carter-Vickers is just 24-years-old so has a lot of potential as a player. He has an average rating of 7.36 over the past seven games for Celtic, which is higher than Craig Dawson’s for West Ham over the same period which is 6.95, according to Sofascore.

Dawson is 31-years-old and certainly won’t be getting better over the coming years, so it may be time to think about replacing him with a more youthful player, such as Carter-Vickers, who would arguably already be an improvement to the current crop of defenders at the club.

Replacement for Diop?

Issa Diop has featured for West Ham just seven times this campaign in the Premier League, according to Transfermarkt, and has been out of favour due to the form of Kurt Zouma.

If Carter-Vickers were to come in at West Ham then he could certainly replace Diop and be an improvement in the side, as Diop has been slated for his continuously poor performance by the West Ham faithful.

Diop was linked with a move away from West Ham in January and Newcastle were the side interested in the Frenchman. So, if the rumours continues in the summer then Moyes could quite happily let him go and get Carter-Vickers in who would be a suitable replacement.
