Eberechi Eze was linked with a loan move to Newcastle United in January but they had their bid snubbed by Palace.

Eze signed for Palace 18 months ago from QPR for £17million and has impressed during his time in the Premier League so far, scoring six times and registering four assists last campaign before he suffered an injury.

According to The Sun, Newcastle are lining up a £45million bid for Palace’s man in the summer, and with the recent Saudi takeover, money appears to be no issue.

Eze was the star man for Queens Park Rangers before signing for Palace, and was named in the 2019/20 Championship Team of the Season.

Similar to Alan Saint-Maximin?

Eze was described as a player who starts on the left and has the ability to drift in side, similar to the position that Saint-Maximin plays, so the question lays as to whether they could play together.

They are both young talents who have been tipped to have bags of potential, with the natural skills to take on players with their pace and skill.

Saint-Maximin is 24-years-old and is often the key man in any side that he plays in, very similar to Eze. But with both of their abilities to play in multiple positions, they could link well if the later was to sign for the Magpies in the summer.

With Liverpool’s front three switching positions constantly throughout the game, Newcastle could opt for a similar approach and offer both Eze and Saint-Maximin free roles across the front three.

Eze to complete Newcastle dream attack?

With Alan Saint-Maximin’s mesmerising form for Newcastle, they have been in greater need of support for the French winger.

After the Saudi Arabia takeover at Newcastle, they will be able to bring in higher calibre of player, and Eze could be part of their dream attack.

The £18m-rated star is a technically gifted player who would be on the same wave length as current attacking Saint-Maximin, and if the Magpies were to sign another player to join the attack, then they could have a perfect front three.
