The current valuation of Adrien Rabiot could leave Newcastle United with the possibility of grabbing themselves a bargain in the summer transfer window.

Eddie Howe’s side have been linked with a potential summer swoop for the French midfielder, who has just over one year remaining on his contract with Juventus.

Would Rabiot be an upgrade for MUFC?

Interestingly, the midfielder, according to CIES Football Observatory – which has developed a powerful econometric approach to assess the transfer value of professional footballers on a scientific basis – Rabiot is valued at as much as €30m (£25m).

This is a stark contrast to the £8m-£12.5m which has been suggested by sources in Italy as the potential fee Rabiot could leave for in the summer.

Calciomercato reports the Old Lady are prepared to cut ties with the 26-year-old in the summer, with a number of clubs – including Newcastle – said to be showing interest.

The French midfielder has featured prominently for Juventus with 21 appearances to his name in the Serie A this season and although he would not bring guaranteed goals and assists with him (via Transfermarkt), he would come with the admiration of Andrea Pirlo.

“He is a complete player, I have rarely seen someone so strong both physically and technically,” Pirlo told Sky Sports in 2020 (via Goal).

“He doesn’t even know the potential for improvement he can have, and we work on the mental side of things to make him understand that he is a champion. He is improving game after game.”

TIF Thoughts on Adrien Rabiot to NUFC…

The player has vast experience playing at the top level of European football across his time at Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain which would add to the experience on the continent in their squad of Kieran Trippier.

And for a player with his experience, he is still relatively young at the age of just 26, so he is certainly a player the Toon could look to for the long-term given their ambitious plans for the near future.
