Newcastle United fans will love this latest footage to have emerged on Twitter of Joelinton celebrating his goal at the weekend.

Joelinton managed to score only his second goal of the season on Saturday, with both of them coming under Eddie Howe – while both of them have come against Brentford, as he has netted in the reverse fixture back in November.

Will Eddie Howe keep Newcastle up?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Brazilian has been a player reborn this season under Howe, who has found a perfect spot for him in the team as a central midfielder who is now leading the team in tackles won and rather outstandingly leading the team in successful pressures with 129. The player closest to him is Sean Longstaff with 79 (as per FBRef).

However, he showcased that he does still have a goal in his locker every so often as he leapt highest to meet Ryan Fraser’s cross at the back post, and the relief was clear to see from Joelinton, who ran the length of the pitch way ahead of his teammates to celebrate and let out a huge roar in front of the travelling Newcastle fans, who had brought several Brazilian flags with them.

TIF Thoughts on Joelinton…

The Brazilian has undergone a stunning transformation under Howe having gone from a £40 million striker that struggled in front of goal with six league strikes in two seasons, to a midfielder that is seemingly undroppable now and keeping Bruno Guimaraes out of the side.

Joelinton is swiftly becoming a fan favourite on Tyneside, with a song about him now amongst fans and his own flag in the Gallowgate End – which is some feat for someone that flopped badly last season. He is now a key cog under Howe, playing the second-most minutes out of anyone in this entire season and his second goal of the season was clearly a massive relief for him.
