With Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds riddled with injuries this season, the forward’s injury was just the latest in what has been a campaign of setbacks for the Whites.

However, the 20-year-old has provided fans with some optimism that he is on the mend through his latest post to his Instagram story, with a photo of him in action from earlier in the season.

Greenwood captioned the image with: “Can’t wait to be back playing.” This was followed by a number of emojis including a timer and an hourglass.

The Leeds youngster has been linked with a potential loan spell away from Elland Road to find his feet in men’s football, with ex-striker Noel Whelan claiming it would prove beneficial for his development.

Whelan’s claim comes with Greenwood playing just 12 minutes of Premier League action this season despite Bielsa’s issues up top, with Patrick Bamford having missed the majority of the campaign.

Despite impressing in the Premier League 2 division with seven goals and four assists in his 14 appearances, it has been Joe Gelhardt who has been the main breakthrough from the U23s side to Bielsa’s first team.
