Leeds United are set for a bolstering of funds after news emerged that the 49ers Enterprises could have 100% control of the Whites by January 2024.

Daily Mirror journalist David Anderson told GiveMeSport that the 49ers will have the ‘financial clout’ in order to take over the Premier League club.

“[Andrea] Radrizzani has got plans but, obviously, to succeed in the Premier League you don’t just need to be a multi-millionaire, you need to be a billionaire. Of course, 49ers Enterprises will have that sort of financial clout. That agreement is in place for them to buy out full control if both sides agree,” Anderson commented.

Leeds failed to bring in any new players in the recent transfer window, but with the 49ers’ investment, Marcelo Bielsa could be offered greater funds to finance new players.

TIF Thoughts on the 49ers’ potentially taking over at Leeds United…

Bielsa has been reluctant to sign players on the financial scale that his competitors have been able to since gaining promotion to the Premier League, and this could be down to the lack of funds at his disposal.

The Argentine has often opted for more youthful options in previous windows, but this financial boost could give him what is required to help him spur his side on to the next level.

Bielsa did in fact spend around £50m on Daniel James, Junior Firpo, Kristoffer Klaesson and Jack Harrison in the summer, but with a new injection of cash, a new crop of players could enter Elland Road in the future that leads to greater success on the pitch for Leeds.

However, with Bielsa’s rigid structure in recent times in terms of transfers, he could be reluctant to alter his ways of going for the youthful approach.

Albeit, it will certainly widen the option of players available to Bielsa in years to come if the 49ers were to be successful in their takeover of the club.
