Greg O’Keeffe has been speaking on the All Together Now podcast about how impressed people have been with Frank Lampard at Everton.

It’s been a turbulent few weeks at the helm for Lampard, who signed two players on the day he arrived at the club and tasted the highs of winning twice in front of the Everton faithful, before seeing his side collapse away to Newcastle United.

Will Lampard bring success to Everton?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

However, it’s not just what he’s doing on the pitch which has impressed people inside the club, with O’Keeffe claiming that the way he’s assembled his backroom staff has left many in awe considering a lot of them have not worked with Lampard before.

O’Keeffe reveals what he’s heard from people at Everton about Lampard.

He said: “It seems as if he’s used that time away from the game to go and enhance himself, and I think as well it’s probably remiss of us, we should mention that it feels like – and certainly the soundings I’m getting from people around the club [are] – he’s picked his staff shrewdly.

“I think Paul Clement has been a really good addition – loads of experience, massive clubs, got that link with Ancelotti as well, hasn’t he, so a bit of continuity there for us.

“Joe Edwards is another young man like Lampard, relatable to our younger players, and then Ashley Cole – you talk about Mason Holgate and Jonjoe Kenny, and they’re looking at Ashley Cole thinking he’s won it all, he’s a superstar of English football, you know, England caps aplenty.”

TIF Thoughts on Frank Lampard at Everton…

Everton appear to have found a manager that can galvanise a fanbase that was certainly fractured from Rafael Benitez’s tenure, as Goodison Park was the most packed-out it had been for an Everton home league game all season apart from the Merseyside derby, showing how together everyone appears to be under Lampard.

The fact that Lampard has brought in someone such as Paul Clement, who’s worked for some of the biggest clubs across Europe and will presumably have a whole load of techniques and ways to get the best out of players – while Ashley Cole also brings relatively fresh footballing experience much like Lampard does – could massively help out the seventh-worst defence in the Premier League this season and should really give the Toffees a great chance to avoid the drop.
