Journalist Dean Jones has claimed on Twitter that Newcastle and their owners are hopeful of landing five new signings on Monday, with Dan Burn, Matt Targett and Hugo Ekitike seemingly the trio closest to potentially joining.

The Magpies are still said to hold an interest in Jesse Lingard, but this looks increasingly unlikely as time passes by, while Issa Diop is reportedly also a target for the Magpies. It would be an outstanding 24 hours of business if all deals could be pulled off.
