Newcastle Untied are preparing for what will turn out to be a crucial transfer window as they look to secure Premier League football next season.
The Toon army have already started by acquiring Kieran Trippier and are now turning their attentions to a central defender. A deal for Diego Carlos from Sevilla could be concluded this weekend, with the Magpies also looking at reaching an agreement with Lille for Sven Botman as well.

Signing Carlos would be a huge statement of intent from Newcastle, the defender is valued on TransferMarkt at £40 million. The fact that the rumoured fee is 30-35 million euros shows how Newcastle are going about their business efficiently despite the extortionate wealth of the owners.
