A number of Newcastle United fans have reacted with great excitement after hearing their club have submitted a bid for Bruno Guimaraes.
According to well-known transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies are pushing to sign the Lyon midfielder in the time remaining before the January window slams shut in under a week.
The journalist shared the news, explaining that a €40m (£33.4m) offer is ‘on the table’ as of Tuesday night, but the Ligue 1 side have not offered an answer and the player is also yet to decide. Romano also added that clubs such as Arsenal and Juventus are interested in the 24-year-old.

Indeed, RMC Sport reporter Loic Tanzi has recently claimed that the Gunners are keen on the player, so Newcastle may have to brace themselves for what could be a real bidding war for the player.
That said, further reports have since claimed that the Brazilian is ‘set to undergo a medical‘ ahead of a proposed move to Tyneside, so perhaps the fans could get their wish of seeing Guimaraes in Newcastle colours before too long.
