A number of Leeds United fans have reacted well after hearing transfer target Brenden Aaronson speak about his future in a recent press conference.

With the January transfer window heading towards its end, rumours linking the West Yorkshire club with a possible signing are beginning to heat up.

Indeed, such is Leeds’ apparent interest in the Red Bull Salzburg man, he was even asked about the situation while away on international duty with the American men’s national football team.

Journalist Phil Hay took to Twitter to share what Aaronson’s response was, quoting him as saying: “I’m not going to talk about that. It’s a subject I don’t want to talk about right now. I’m away from it, I’m really not worried about it. I’m just worried about getting wins with America.”

After seeing the quotes being shared online by Hay, plenty of supporters flocked to the tweet to offer their thoughts on the matter.

Here’s what these Leeds fans had to say…

“Aaronson defiantly wants the transfer to happen.”
“Sounds promising. Another failed window.”
“He’s going to be on international duty well past the transfer window so I think that’s the end of it!”
“Ain’t happening is it, move on & we’ll have a good cry 1st Feb when the windows slammed shut”
“Definitely a come and get me plea.”

“He wants to be Leeds.”

Judging from the comments above, it appears there’s a rather mixed response, with some excited as others lean towards the deal not happening.

There’s little doubting Leeds’ interest in Aaronson is real, with The Athletic recently reporting that the Premier League outfit are preparing to make Salzburg a £20 million offer – having already seen a £15m bid rejected.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not the player will try and push for the move or if he will simply leave it up to the two clubs to work out the situation.
