A large number of Celtic fans have flocked to an official club post following their three points earned on Thursday night announcing Carl Starfelt as the Man of the Match.

The Swedish defender has been ruled out recently due to a hamstring injury which forced him to miss the two Scottish Premiership games prior to Thursday night’s victory over Hearts.

However, the 26-year-old did return for the game at Parkhead during the week and he was able to complete all 90 minutes of the game against Robbie Neilson’s side.

And Celtic fans flooded to the club’s tweet as they shared their delight at the display shown by their centre-back on his return to Postecoglou’s XI.

What did these fans have to say?

“His best performance in a Celtic shirt, immense tonight”

“I’m man enough to I admit, he’s won me over. Solid”
“Proving his doubters wrong absolutely superb”
“He has certainly proved me wrong, as he was a bomb scare earlier in the season. Fair play to him. Playing very well.”
“Absolute rock! He won almost everything he challenged for, passing was class and he really controlled the game at the back and kept things calm. Wonderful return!”
“This guy is improving, I take my hat off to him as I wasnt convinced a few months back”

Starfelt has become a prominent feature in Ange Postecoglou’s side since joining from Rubin Kazan during the summer with 12 league appearances already to his name (via Transfermarkt).

Given the Bhoys have only conceded five league goals in the 12 appearances Starfelt has made since arriving, we are not surprised these fans are delighted to see the 26-year-old back in action at Parkhead.
