Things have gone from bad to worse for Tottenham Hotspur after games against Rennes in the Europa Conference League and then a Premier League clash with Brighton were postponed.

It was a decision that had to be made after an outbreak of Covid 19 amongst the players and staff at the club, significantly reducing Antonio Conte’s options and severely impacting preparations for the fixtures.

While falling games behind, their league game will be easy enough to reschedule at a later date and not cause any major problems. On the other hand, the European tie isn’t that easy. After not agreeing on a rescheduled date, the game will not go ahead and now the matter is referred to a UEFA panel.

This could be disastrous for Spurs who could now be knocked out of the Europa Conference League depending on the outcome of the review.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

Although it’s disappointing to miss out on the chance of silverware, could this be a blessing in disguise for Conte? He can 100% focus on the league, cut down travel time across Europe for his squad and subsequently make a real charge for the top four.
