Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the latest claims suggesting who they could swoop for in the upcoming January transfer window.

With Newcastle deep in a relegation battle having won just one of their games so far this season and losing their last three games by an aggregate score of 10-1, it’s clear that the team is in need of a deep overhaul if they are to stand a chance of staying in the division this year.

And according to reports, that is exactly what they are planning. A report in The Daily Mail has outlined just how many players that Eddie Howe’s men are looking to sign in order to change their fortunes, and it lists Kieran Trippier, Moussa Dembele, Sven Botman and Lucas Digne all as potential signings.

Can you name who scored the most league goals for Newcastle United in years gone by? Let's see if you can starting with 2020/21

The news was relayed to Newcastle fans by @NUFC360 for them to react to, where it’s fair to say there was plenty of excitement at who they were lining up to save them from the drop:

“January can’t come quick enough. 14 prior winter windows were filled with bargain bin deals (besides the odd panic buy when we were tethering above relegation) now we know we’ll be after a better calibre of player. We won’t have to wait until the final day of transfers for once.”

“Throw in a CM and that’s the best window I can remember, on paper at least”
“Dembele would be such an amazing signing”
“YESSSS I WILL CRY”
“Dembele,Botman,Trippier,Tarkowski and Digne and 2 midfielders would be beautiful”
“I hope they can get them in quickly to have an early impact”

Although, as the report in The Daily Mail states, “the threat of relegation is proving a deterrent for some of Newcastle’s targets”, so whether or not they’ll be able to pull these signings off given how bad their start to the season has been, we’ll just have to wait and see.
