Leeds United fans have been reacting to comments made by youngster Sam Greenwood in the aftermath of their most recent Premier League game.

Leeds’ terrible run of form continued this past weekend, as they were defeated by Arsenal 4-1 at Elland Road, placing further doubt over their future in the Premier League as they sit just five points above the relegation zone, having played more games than most of the teams below them.

To compound their misery, Marcelo Bielsa’s men are also going through something of an injury crisis, with numerous players out with various fitness issues. The one bright spark to have come from that, though, is that it has given some of the club’s youngsters a chance to play in the first team.

One such player was Greenwood, who, having already made cameo appearances in cup competitions for the club, was able to make his league debut this past weekend, coming on as a substitute late in the game.

He took to social media on Monday to comment on the game and his league debut, calling it a ‘dream come true’, with Leeds fans flocking to his tweet to show their support:

“Awwww was sooooo chuffed for you our sam. Would’ve loved a video of your proud family cheering you on. Gives us a magic feeling. Absolutely many more to come. Class always comes thru”
