Joseph Masi has been speaking on the Baggies Broadcast about the transfer plans West Brom have for January.

The Baggies may look at the January transfer window as their final opportunity to gatecrash the automatic promotion spots, with Fulham and Bournemouth currently at least six points ahead of them, but any action taken in the winter window may have to differ from the summer, when Valerien Ismael’s side failed to spend any money on a transfer fee.

Will West Brom earn promotion?

No!

West Brom have seen themselves linked with a striker in January, and those reports would make sense following claims that Norwich City are looking to recall Jordan Hugill when the transfer window comes round.

Masi spoke about West Brom’s potential January business and if the club are prepared to move swiftly.

He said: “Things can go wrong at the last minute, numerous deals break down at the last minute, so it’s not done until it’s done. But I did get the sort of impression from Ismael that they’ve got their ducks in a row, if you like, and they will get some business done in January.”

West Brom gambled over the summer as they didn’t splash out the cash on permanent signings, in comparison to both Fulham and Bournemouth, but if they can get to January still within six points of those two teams, it may well have been a gamble worth taking.

This is because the board and Ismael have had half of the season to look at the squad and pick out which areas need immediate investment to help give them that final push in the second half of the campaign.
