A whole host of Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter were very happy to see Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has signed for the club.
Wednesday weren’t quiet over the summer as they managed to bring in nine new faces as they embarked on a season in League One, however, it hasn’t exactly paid off as they currently sit outside of the play-offs.

Darren Moore and the Wednesday board don’t appear willing to wait until the January transfer window to improve and change the squad as they’ve moved for Mendez-Laing, who was a free agent having been released by Middlesbrough earlier this year.

Mendez-Laing has both Premier League and Championship experience but has not played in League One since his time with Rochdale during the 2016/17 season, although has a decent record in England’s third tier for a winger having scored and assisted a combined 44 goals in 157 appearances, so it could be an incredibly astute piece of business for the Owls.
