A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest comments to emerge from Antonio Conte on Thursday night.

The Lilywhites were on the receiving end of another embarrassing night of European football, this time losing with the last kick of the game against Slovenian side NS Mura.

Defeat in the fifth game of the group stage has left Conte’s side in a precarious position, in which second spot is now the best the Londoners can hope to achieve from Group G with one game to go.

Speaking after the game, Conte had some pretty damning comments on the situation he has inherited at Spurs:

“I am happy to stay here but we have to work a lot to improve the quality of the squad. We are Tottenham but there is an important gap with the top teams but I am not scared,” he said, as per journalist Jonathan Veal.

And Spurs fans flocked to Twitter as they shared their concerns over the 52-year-old’s comments, which come within the first few weeks of his time in N17.

What did these Tottenham fans have to say about Antonio Conte’s comments?

“Worrying as I just don’t see levy putting his money where his mouth is”

“Yikes he ain’t lasting the season”
“Basically we need to change a load of players in January or he will walk. It is now or never Levy”
“Wow he’s close to quitting”
“Does anyone else find it incredible that after only 3 weeks he’s saying “I’m happy to stay”? Wow. That is staggering.”
“This man has been broken already”

Spurs turn their attentions back to Premier League action on the weekend with a trip up north to face Sean Dyche’s Burnley as they aim to close the four-point gap on the top four.

Given the reputation Conte arrives with, it is apparent these fans are already worried about the club not backing him as he looks to return Spurs back to their consistent top-four finishes from just a few years ago.
